My Outfit Monday: Black, white and neon orange all over
On the way out of the house this morning, on what I knew would be a crazy busy day full of deadlines and interviews, I thought to myself, "Self, better take a back-up mirror selfie in case there's no time for posing leisurely in the grass against a light post." And lo, now it's 5 p.m. and it is coming in handy. My Outfit Monday, just under the wire!
I've been running to and fro in a brand new skirt from the Peter Pilotto collection for Target. I don't always run to the red bullseye for every designer collabo, but the guys at Peter P are among my favorite shape-makers in the game. I'm pleased with my faux-wrap skirt, how the panel in the front segregates the patterns without hurting your eyes too much. It's on clearance now for $24.48. I paired it with my black Express Portofino shirt (apparently a Deal Divas staple) and some tights on the final days of the year when it will be cool enough for tights.
It needed a pop of color, though, and since we're creeping ever so close to sprang break, I went for my patent leather Gianni Bini pumps in SAFETY SPRANG BREAK ORANGE. When I got on the elevator, some guy remarked, "Those are... bright." I agreed.
I guess this color is on my mind right now, because last Friday I got a manicure in almost an identical Harmony Korine-inspired hue. Pairs well with my new obsessions, gold midi rings from Target. Aren't they cute? Thanks, Pinterest, for making me have to have them. And thanks, Target, for enabling me to get them. Thanks for all you do.
