My Outfit Monday: Business up front...
I spent the holiday weekend frolicking in bright spring colors at home, playing fetch with golden retrievers, eating cheesy spinach and artichoke bites, and catching up with family.
The bliss could not stay. Today feels every bit like a post-holiday Monday. Gone is my fried chicken and ham. I may have eaten an oatmeal creme pie for lunch. It does not get much sadder, boys and gals.
Today's outfit is trying to lift my spirits. From the front, it's classic, even a little serious. The pencil skirt is a textured find from Ann Taylor Loft (which is having a 50 percent off online sale today with free shipping). The black suede bow wedges are much more comfortable to wear around the state Capitol than heels. The red button-down connotes power and authority, right? RIGHT.
Only, not really. What we have here is a case of business in the front, party in the back. The back of the shirt features patterned leaves (remember, trendy prints?) that bring surprise and delight to all I meet -- or maybe just to me, and that's all I can hope for as I re-enter reality.
What do you think? Oatmeal creme pies or zebra cakes?
