My Outfit Monday: Cheap thrill
Full-fledged confession here, y'all: I'm cheap.
I'm sure you probably already figured that out given the nature of this blog. But, unlike some folks who take offense to the term and try to sub in pleasant euphemisms like "frugal" or "thrifty," I fully embrace my cheapness and, in fact, proudly wear it on my sleeve -- literally!
Today's outfit is my latest example of what I'll happily call a "cheap thrill."
When I woke up this morning, I decided I wanted to center my outfit around this cream brocade blazer I scored at the St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop in Clearwater for $5. (LOTS of great finds in there, many of them brand new).
I bought the heather grey dress a while ago from Ross for $10, and just happened to have a brown belt with perfectly matching round stud details.
A former silver junkie who for years wore the same simple necklace and ring daily, I've been big into statement jewelry and the much more mature look of gold lately. I nearly tripped over myself on the way to cashing out on this necklace, a $5 Target clearance find, yesterday.
The white/gold bracelet was a gift and the watch is a keepsake passed down by my late grandma. You might remember that the flats were a Payless BOGO 1/2 off deal.
So, what are your thoughts: Is this outfit a bargain-shopping success or should I shell out a few more duckets on an upgrade?
