My Outfit Monday: Fun with polka dots
I had plans for my inaugural My Outfit Monday post. They included carefully picked jewelry, perhaps swapping out glasses for the contacts I never wear, and a fully brushed head of hair.
But then it happened that my first outfit post would fall on the Monday after a late Sunday flight back to Tampa from home sweet home (let's go Buffalo!), so all my best laid plans ended up half-happening, which is less fabulous but definitely more realistic.
So, the outfit. I bought the skirt at Revolve in St. Pete like a year ago, but this is the first time I've worn it. I figured, hey, black and white polka dots, it'll go with anything! But it's a little too much WHITE with all the white shirts in my closet. But I picked up this black T-shirt at Target a couple weeks ago. I think it makes the skirt look less optical-illusiony. I topped it off with a blue cardigan that I got a million years ago from Land's End Canvas (they have THE BEST clearance sales). I don't remember where the black flats are from, but I pretty much only buy my shoes from Target these days, so it's a solid bet.
I added a tiny bit of shine with some H&M bracelets, and earrings I got through a Premier Designs jewelry party. I think it needs a necklace, but I couldn't decide on one by the time I had to leave for work this morning.
And the hair: whatever. I thought I'd fully dried it, but the 40-minute drive to work picked up the slack and left me with what you might call messy. I prefer to call tousled. As I made my way to Starbucks this morning before work, some guy coming out of another store said "Hey! Wake up sleepy head!"
Better luck next time.
