My Outfit Monday: Is it the weekend yet?
First things first: This is not what I'm wearing today.
It's actually what I wore Saturday. And since it's better than what I have on today (trust me) I decided to use my "get-out-of-actually-posting-what-you're-wearing" card and show you this instead.
Like all the other sane people, I spent most of my weekend outside (who wouldn't?). I wanted to be casual enough to stroll Saturday Morning Market, but keep it classy enough for the Times' annual Festival of Reading, where I introduced an author.
So, seeking balance, I went for these more-than-blue-but-not-quite-purple (indigo?) jeans I found on a clearance rack at Target last month. I paired that with a thin, $15 striped sweater from TJ Maxx, and some neutral flats from Kohl's with a barely-there heel. The necklace came from a garage sale.
I would be remiss if I didn't confess to a little splurge. The jacket -- $60 -- came from a charming boutique I found last month while on vacation in Salt Lake City. At the time, I agonized about spending that much on a single item I wasn't convinced I would wear all that much in Florida. But now? Totally worth it.
What do you guys think?
