My Outfit Monday: Party Dress Edition
Am I the only one who already has champagne chilling for tomorrow night?
New Year's Eve is one of my favorite holidays and it's mainly just because of the bubbly. Though, let's be real, I keep a bottle of (cheap!) champagne on hand at all times, because you never know when you'll want to celebrate.
In the spirit of celebrations, today's My Outfit Monday is a glimpse back in the past to another day worth busting out the bubbly. My two friends got married! Woop!
Held a few weeks ago at the Postcard Inn on St. Pete Beach, the ceremony was outside, but not on the sand. Which, coupled with cooler temps, gave me the opportunity to rock black suede booties and sheer black tights a la Kate Middleton, my personal style idol.
The dress you may recall from a previous post, came from Express, snagged during a 50 percent off sale.
I had a bit of trouble deciding what jewelry to wear. The dress itself has a sort of silvery metallic thread running through it but the exposed back zipper was more gold toned. For some reason, metallics always confuse me.
I knew I didn't want to go with a plain gold or silver necklace or earrings. Instead, I decided to mix things up by pairing the navy blue dress with mint green accents. Though a bit unconventional, the combo of pale and dark colors seemed to work great, proving mint green does have a place in our winter wardrobes.
I also rocked this frock a week prior to the wedding at a holiday party. No shame! I can't wait to wear it again in 2014.
Happy New Year!
