My Outfit Monday: Working it in the Florida 'winter'
It only took us until the middle of January, but we did it, Tampa Bay:
We got fall weather.
I'd like to give a big shout-out to the sun, for moving a little farther away from us. And where would we be without clouds? Key assist.
But I digress. Getting dressed this morning was about being warm and cozy while keeping things professional for a day when I needed to be out in the field, reporting.
My dress and boots are both from Nordstrom Rack, where I found them a few weeks ago at half price. The Sam Edelman booties (similar to these) were still a little pricy, at $60. But for the quality and the fact that I've worn them 700 times already, these iconic ankle boots were a steal, originally priced at $150.
The dress is one of those things I prayed would fit the moment I saw it. (Sometimes 'love at first sight' is best experienced with clothes.) I adore the buttons, and the heavier fabric is perfect for this weather. It's by Anne Klein, and Rack still has a few left in select sizes.
But the real marquee item, for me, is the fleece-lined leggings. I feel like I'm cheating because I'm at work but I feel like I'm home on the couch in sweatpants. How did I get so far in life without wearing these? I picked them up at TJ Maxx back in September for a trip to Chicago - I think they were something stupid like $6.99 - and haven't looked back.
Not pictured: My hulking laptop bag, a J.Crew Factory men's department purchase. I'm also wearing tiny little orange-brown studs an old boyfriend's mom gave to me when she was cleaning out her jewelry drawer a few years ago. And don't miss my hair elastic, left wrist. #vogue
