Royal(ish) jewelry fit for a princess (or holiday party)
Over the years, I've become one of those super annoying Americans who is really into British things without having a firm grasp on British history. I've got the basic historical outline down, but more or less I just really love Doctor Who, Jane Austen, the Top Gear guys, holiday-ish movies partly set in Surrey and the Duchess of Cambridge.
So I sorta kinda obsessively follow what Kate Middleton wears via What Kate Wore. I can only imagine you do, too, so I'm SURE you know all about the $35 Zara (currently unavailable, but here's some similar ones) necklace she wore with the world's most perfect long sleeved ivory dress to the premiere of the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
The dress was gooooorg, and pairing it with a pretty cheap necklace, I love. I can only imagine the Duchess gives such price-mixing style tips to Prince Harry's main squeeze Cressida Bonas, since in my head they're BFFs, and Cressida will be spending some holiday time at the Queen's estate in Sandringham while the Queen is there (which obvi means Harry's probably going to propose, which hopefully means another extravagant royal wedding, woot woot!).
So that led me to fantasize about the fabulous but affordable jewelry Cressida could probably wear to hang out with the Queen, and that you could definitely wear for any non-royal but still fabulous stuff you've got going on.
C'mon, don't tell me that train of thought didn't make sense. Whatever, it's Monday. Sparkles! To the slideshow!
