It's Wednesday, time to start thinking about where you're going to shop this week. (But isn't that every day? I digress.) Here are some events worth noting:

It's back! Brides on a budget can view a selection of new designer bridal gowns, formal and cocktail dresses all priced $400 or less. I've been, and it's super organized and fun and 100 percent worth it. Just be sure to line up early or you may just see your dress of dreams leave in another bride's arms. Benefits training programs of Goodwill-Suncoast. Free. Goodwill, 16432 U.S. 19 N, Clearwater. (727) 535-2578. 6 a.m. Friday.

Prom dresses: the insanity. Some can cost you more than a wedding gown, all in the name of teenage revelry. That’s why the Belle of the Ball Project is stepping up yet again to supply prom dresses and accessories to high school students in need. Now in its second decade of serving young women in Tampa Bay, the charity has opened a new boutique at 1210 Holt Ave., Clearwater, to house more than 4,000 quality dresses. Stop in to donate or pick out a gown between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday or May 7. No referral letter or appointment is needed for shoppers to attend, and donations of $1 or $5 are appreciated but not mandatory. (727) 386-4502.

Tick, tock! Mother’s Day is just around the corner. As we struggle to come up with that perfect gift for mom, let’s keep in mind that some bay area seniors may not have family nearby with whom to celebrate. That’s why Home Instead Senior Care has created the Adopt a Senior Mom for Mother’s Day program. Here’s how it works: The organization chooses 500 seniors — 250 moms and 250 dads from bay area care facilities. Now here’s where we come in: Anyone interested in sponsoring a senior mom (or dad through Adopt a Senior Dad for Father’s Day) can stop in at participating Bealls Outlets and BonWorth stores in Pinellas County to pick up a gift tag with a senior’s name and gift request, purchase the item and return it unwrapped to the store no later than April 29. Voila! Home Instead will wrap and deliver the gifts. To donate or learn more, visit

I don’t know about you, but I have Bohemian fever and it just won’t quit. That’s why I’m heading over to Cerulean Blu — stat. The boutique at 400 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg, just stocked up on some killer Maaji swimwear. This top that I am absolutely dying over is $70; this luxe zip-up coverup $99. Now excuse me while I book a vacation so I can let these pieces be seen.  (727) 498-8984.
