Shopping Planner: Fit2Run's tent sale, macrame makes a comeback and the Indie Market stays cool
Walk a Mile: Fit2Run Tent Sale
It feels like more and more people are getting into fitness. If it’s true, that’s a good thing. But it could just be that athleisure is such a big trend now, so it looks like everyone has just come from the gym. Either way, wearing good shoes is key, but that usually comes with a hefty price tag. Enter Fit2Run’s tent sale this weekend. The St. Petersburg location of “the runner’s superstore” will have great deals on all the running essentials outside their store Friday through Tuesday. Jog on over there and check it out. 256 Second St. N. fit2run.com.
Craft Revival:Macrame Workshop
It’s really true that all things come back into style at some point, and now is that time for macrame. The most beloved craft of the ’70s is making its way back into homes thanks to boho chic and indie markets. Try your hand at the craft by joining the Modern Macrame Hoop workshop at St. Peterburg’s Makeme Studio. Best part? It’s BYOB so you can relax with a nice glass of wine while you create. You’ll learn material selection, preparation and basic knotting techniques while creating a wall hanging to take home. You’ll choose either a metal or wood hoop and have the option of adding color with dye or colored yarns. All supplies are provided. The workshop happens Sunday from 1-3:30 p.m. and costs $45. It’s adults only. makemestudio.com.
Keeping Cool: St. Pete Indie Market
The dog days of summer are here so the St. Pete Indie Market has moved indoors to the State Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg. It runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and you’ll find more than 50 artists and makers selling their goods, as well as food, a full bar and a raffle. 687 Central Ave.
