She Gave You Life: Shop with Mom
Yes, it’s really true, Mother’s Day is Sunday. Perhaps you’ve already bought her a gift and planned a fabulous weekend full of activities with her. If not, here are a few suggestions that involve shopping, free stuff and fun.

Hyde Park Village is a lovely place to shop and stroll, and several stores there are offering deals over the weekend. The Carlton Ward Gallery is offering free family photos from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. It’s first come, first served, so get there early. Anthropologie has children’s crafts on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, and on Sunday, moms get a free gourmet ice pop from the Hyppo, 744 S Village Circle, Tampa. hydeparkvillage.com.

Maybe your mom’s a DJ, or just really into vinyl. If so, consider Clearwater Record Shop’s record show and swap meet on Saturday. You’ll find thousands of records, music memorabilia and vintage electronics, as well as collectors and dealers buying, selling and trading. It’s free admission from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at 1610 N Hercules Ave.

If mom’s a fashionista, she’ll likely appreciate the African Fashion Pop Up at the Tampa Marriott Westshore on Saturday. The event is put on by African Fashions, a branch of Motherland Fabrics that makes clothing from those gorgeous cloths. The pop-up tours the country, and this is the second time in the past six months or so that they’ve come to Tampa. Clothing, fabrics, jewelry and accessories will all be available for purchase. It’s free to attend, but an RSVP is required at eventbrite.com. It happens from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at 1001 N West Shore Blvd.

It wouldn’t be a weekend in St. Petersburg without an indie market and craft beer, so it’s a good thing 3 Daughters Brewing is having a Mother’s Day Market from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. They’ll have the standard food trucks, music and indie vendors, but they’ve added a red carpet photo op for moms with (or without) the family; plant education for kids, a craft area for kids, henna tattoos, face painting and caricatures. 222 22nd St. S. 3dbrewing.com.
