ROAD BLOCK: SATURDAY STOPPAGE
Note to self and to you: The Saturday Morning Market will be closed this weekend as the Firestone Grand Prix takes over St. Petersburg. Remember to wear your most stylish ear muffs!

QUAINT AND QUIRKY: SHABBY CHIC MARKET
They like things airy, elegant and rough around the edges. They’re some of the most celebrated refabbers in Tampa Bay, and they’re gathering in Safety Harbor this weekend for the Shabby Chic Vintage Market and Artisan Day. Head down Main Street until you reach the gazebo — you can’t miss it — to enjoy food and drinks, original art, handmade jewelry, vintage home decor, garden furniture and decor, plant and flower vendors and, of course, entertainment. This serene setting is so quaint, you may just feel as though you’ve stepped foot into a Norman Rockwell painting. Free. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.  (727) 674-1464. simplyeventsfl.com.

HAUTE HISTORY: CHISELERS MARKET
Now’s your chance to help preserve a bay area heirloom while enjoying incredible deals on some of Tampa’s finest silver, crystal and china, plus gently used household items, jewelry, art, books, toys, couture clothing and more. Proceeds from the Chiselers 53rd Annual One Day Market will help restore and maintain the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel. Bask in the historic grandeur as you shop at bargain-basement prices on the main floor of Plant Hall at the University of Tampa, 401 W Kennedy Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

ITEM OF THE WEEK: FANCY AND FRAGRANT
It was my good fortune last Saturday to attend a gala benefitting Habitat for Humanity Pinellas. The Vinoy Renaissance event featured 15 imaginative garden-themed dining areas dressed by local designers. My place was set at the dreamy European-inspired table fashioned by Heidi Kiffin of St. Petersburg’s Mis en Chic. At each setting: Niven Morgan’s Paris candle in Blue Cypress and Absinthe, a decadent aroma that oozes French sophistication. You can find the candle rich with sophisticated fragrance for $32 at Mis en Chic, 1180 Central Ave. St. Petersburg, or online at misenchic.com. (727) 623-4866.
