Stacked heels: for when you need a boost ... but not a bunion

Anyone who's seen my closet knows there are a couple shelves dedicated to nothing but high heels. And yet, for the past few months, I've worn hardly any of them.

Why? Because at the moment, I'm in love with flats.

But even the cutest flats/sandals don't cut it with certain outfits, amirite?

Enter the stacked heel. It's fast becoming my go-to option when I want to elevate (haha, get it?) a look without killing my feet or teetering on tiny spikes (which I still totally love).

I have to admit, a stacked heel doesn't go with every silhouette. Sometimes it can look downright odd with certain dresses or even jeans.

But, because it's flatter, it distributes the weight around. (Or at least that's what I read this one time in Women's Day.)

Check out the current stacked heels I'm crushing on from J.Crew, Macy's, Kohl's and Dillard's.

Here's hoping its a trend that takes hold this fall. What do you guys think?
