Thrift stores jumping on the Labor Day sale train
There's a reason we love thrift stores - they're cheap. There's also a reason we love when thrift stores have sales.
Hello shopping spree.
I've just started to get what is sure to be a deluge of emails advertising this weekend's sales (Labor Day is as good an excuse as any, right?)
We expect to see specials at Target (20% off when you spend $75), Kohl's ($10 Kohl's cash when you spend $50), Old Navy (30% off now through Monday with the code SPREE; 40% off jeans), and the like. But I was most intrigued by ads for two juggernauts in the Tampa Bay thrift scene.
Salvation Army's "End of Summer" sale starts tomorrow and goes through Saturday. Nearly everything in its thrift stores -- sorry, no mattress sets or bed frames-- will be 25 percent off. The nonprofit also is giving away iPod Shuffles and a 42" flat screen TV. Enter the contest at the store.
Those of you who followed our advice a few weeks ago also know that Sunshine Thrift is offering $5 off totals of at least $20 -- IF you signed up for their text alerts. Sale goes from Saturday to Monday.
Do you guys know of any other thrift stores having Labor Day sales? Tell us in teh comments!
