Wardrobe stylists converge Saturday on Tampa for Project Runway-esque competition
Deevs, especially the Project Runway fans, won't want to miss this one!
You're all invited to bear witness this Saturday as a contingent of up-and-coming wardrobe stylists from across the nation converge on downtown Tampa to face off in a live action battle of fabrics, fashion and fun.
The style competition, dubbed "Eye on Fashion," will showcase the works of fashion stylists Faheemah Safa (New York), Melizza Williams (Florida), Ify by Bobi (Virginia) and Tristan Richards (Florida).
Each stylist will pull together garments and accessories from various boutiques and designers to create five distinct looks - three for runway, a mannequin display and one styled live in front of the audience.
At the end, one grand prize winner will walk away with $550 in cash, a full spread layout of their styling work in Revized Magazine and exposure that lands them one step closer to their dream gig -- be it pulling looks for everyday clientele or the Oscars red carpet.
"The popularity of Rachel Zoe and June Ambrose has grown over the last few years. Fashion stylists are a staple for not only the industry, but the everyday fashion lover or professional," said Lacey B. Smith, chief executive producer and founder of The Fashion Movement, the Tampa-based fashion events production and marketing company hosting the competition.
Smith added: "This is the event for them to showcase their talents."
This will be the second year for the contest, in which Amandia Reese-Craig of Artistyles Boutique emerged the 2012 victor.
This year's event, set for 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, will be held at The Vault, 611 N. Franklin St. in Tampa.
And it's not all about style. Attendees can also check out live musical performances, photo displays, designer collection previews, exhibit booths, and a complimentary sampling of food, drinks and desserts.
See you there!
