Wedding Week: Goodwill revives its Wedding Gala deep discount dress sale
We're not saying you could find Carrie's Vivienne Westwood in this bunch, but with a little luck you might find something that makes you feel just as great (but, like, not jilted by Big, though).
Just in time for our Wedding Week comes news that Goodwill has revived its popular Wedding Gala event, helping budget-conscious brides score dresses at deep discounts. Goodwill told the Times in 2013 that the event had run its course, that it was too labor intensive to host every year. But this year, Goodwill caught a break in the form of a donation of 85 new wedding gowns and 347 new bridal, formal and cocktail dresses from CC’s Bridal Boutique. It was enough to revive the sale in a single store. Brands include Allure Bridals, La Sposa and Maggie Sottero, and nothing is priced more than $400.
On Friday, April 22, come to the Clearwater Goodwill at 16432 U.S. Highway 19 N (this store is not yet open but is expected to be by March). The sale starts bright and early at 6 a.m. (and brides have notoritiously lined up outside earlier than the start time). We advise wearing proper undergarments that will allow you to slip in and out of dresses, plus your wedding shoes if possible. It sounds like with the cocktail gear, bridesmaids may have a shot at finding something as well.
Proceeds from the events will benefit Goodwill-Suncoast’s training programs in Tampa Bay, Lakeland and Ocala for people with developmental disabilities.
Speaking of Goodwill, have you heard you can donate your ex's stuff for Valentine's Day in Sarasota? This post has something for everyone.
