You aren't dreaming. Revolve in St. Pete has gotten pricier

When I was a kid, I had this author that, for a time, I was absolutely enthralled with. Read all his writings and books, and dreamed of meeting him, etc.

At some point, a meeting did happen, at a book signing. And boy, was I disappointed. He was rude, and I was let down.

I had that same feeling last week, on my shopping sojourn with a friend. Neither of us had been shopping in a while (bills, yo) and we both were on the hunt for some sweaters. We were stoked to start at one of our favorites - Revolve Clothing Exchange in St. Pete.

Don't get me wrong, the store was full of goodies, and I was game -- until I started looking at some of the prices.

"Am I crazy or does it seem like their stuff is more expensive?" my friend and I kept asking each other as we browsed through the racks. She passed over a $12 basic tank top. I gave up on $28 pants.

They just didn't seem like what's normally at Revolve, which falls into the category of resale shops that is not quite thrift but not boutique either.

Turns out, we weren't dreaming. While we were there, staff members were talking openly about raising prices.

Later, I called the store manager, just to double check. She wouldn't tell me her name but said the store is trying to be more fair to everyone, including those who may bring in fancier stuff to sell and trade.

I'm not sure my wallet agrees with that, (though I did end up getting a few things from the sale rack) but who are we to judge? Consider this your PSA. Carry on.
