Gators get commitment from four-star DB
GAINESVILLE- Pahokee defensive back Janoris Jenkins gave an oral commitment to the Gators during a live announcement on ESPN Thursday night.
Jenskins, who helped lead Pahokee to a state title, had 80 tackles and six interceptions as a junior last season. He also rushed for more than 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The opportunity to play right away, his relationship with current Gator and former high school rival Deonte Thompson and a general feeling of "home'' when he visited the campus were all contributing factors in his decision.
Jenkins plans to enroll at Florida in January.
