Tebow National Player of the Week

Tim Tebow was named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday after leading the Gators to a 51-31 road victory over South Carolina. It is the second time this season he's received the honor.

Tebow accounted for a school-record-tying seven touchdowns (five running, two passing), set a single-game Florida record with five rushing scores and passed for a career-high 304 yards against a defense that entered the game ranked No. 1 nationally in pass defense (149.2 yards per game).

Tebow completed 22-of-32 passes and threw a pair of touchdown passes (22 yards to sophomore Jarred Fayson and 21 yards to senior Andre Caldwell). He added 120 rushing yards on 26 carries and scored on touchdowns of five, one, three, two and five yards.

In establishing a single-game school record for rushing touchdowns, Tebow’s five scores matched the highest total by any player nationally in a game this season (Matt Forte, Tulane vs. SE Louisiana; DeMarco Murray, Oklahoma vs. North Texas). Tebow finished the game with 120 rushing yards to become the only quarterback in school history to have two 100-yard rushing games (166 vs. Ole Miss, 2007).
