Tebow tabbed nation's best QB, player

Tebow It was a big night for Florida quarterback Tim Tebow.

Tebow on Thursday won both the 2007 Davey O'Brien Award and the Maxwell Award given to the nation's best quarterback and best all-around player, respectively.

He accpeted the awards live on ESPN on The Home Depot College Football Awards.

"It means a lot,'' Tebow said in a news conference after accepting the awards. "It’s a big honor. I’m thankful for it, that’s all I can say.''

Tebow will leave for New York Friday for the Heisman ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ESPN. Tebow joins quarterbacks Chase Daniel of Missouri and Colt Brennan of Hawaii and running back Darren McFadden of Arkansas as finalists.
