UF to limit Tebow autograph signings
The days of stading in a crowd outside of Florida football practices waiting for Tim Tebow to autograph a personal item are coming to an end.
The University Athletic Association has requested that Tebow stop signing autographs following practice. All season long fans have innundated the sophomore quarterback with requests following team practices. But since he won the Heisman on Dec. 8, it has gotten nearly out of hand.
"With Tim Tebow winning the 2007 Heisman Trophy, Tim has been inundated with requests for autographs,'' the UAA said in a statement. "The UAA has asked Tim not to fulfill these autograph requests due to their overwhelming number, which compromises his ability to handle his rigorous schedule as a successful student-athlete.''
In an effort to still allow fans to have a Tebow autographed item, the UAA has produced a signed poster commemorating Tim winning the Heisman Trophy. The poster is free and will be available to the general public beginning mid January 2008, however the UAA is asking that it not be sold.
