Tebow among 13 finalists for Wuerffel Trophy

Quarterback Tim Tebow is one of 13 finalists for the Wuerffel Trophy, a national award that honors the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with outstanding academic and athletic achievement.

The award is named after former Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel, who led Florida to the 1996 national championship, and has received national recognition for his humanitarian and community service efforts with Desire Street Ministries in New Orleans.

Tebow has for 10 touchdowns this season and increased his school-record total to 41 career rushing touchdowns. In addition, he has thrown for 17 touchdowns this season and 54 in his career, which ties John Reaves for seventh-most in Florida history.
