Billy Donovan to be among Gator contingent at title game
Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan is flying to Miami on Thursday to attend the Gators’ national championship game.
UF football coach Urban Meyer was in attendance at both games when Donovan’s teams won back-to-back national titles, and Donovan said he feels it’s important to be at the game to return that support to Meyer and the Gators' football team.
This will be Donovan’s first football title game. He couldn’t make it to Glendale two years ago because the Gators were playing in their SEC-opener the following day. This year, the game is in-state and the Gators don’t play until Saturday.
Florida opens its SEC basketball schedule against Ole Miss at the O'Connell Center Saturday afternoon.
