ESPN's Joe Lunardi: Gators not completely out yet
The non-conference schedule isn't the greatest and they are 6-6 in their last 12 games, but ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi said Wednesday afternoon Florida still has a shot at making the NCAA Tournament.
But everything hinges on what happens tonight and against Kentucky on Saturday.
The Gators play at Mississippi State at 8 tonight.
Lunardi said two wins and a good showing in the SEC Tournament would give the Gators a fair shot at being selected for the NCAA Tournament. Although winning the entire conference tournament would give them their best chance.
"Any team's best chance is to win their conference tournament because it takes the human element of voting away,'' Lunardi said. "If they win two games this week, they aren't going to have to win the SEC Tournament. They'll have a good road win, and a very good home win. Provided they don't lose to Georgia or Arkansas or Auburn in the first round, they should be fine.''
