Who will be Gators' No. 1?
One of Florida's biggest concerns this spring is finding who will help replace RB/WR Percy Harvin.
And then there's Percy's number. Apparently, it's being heavily coveted, with lots of newcomers wanting to wear the No. 1 jersey.
"There are a lot of requests for it,'' UF coach Urban Meyer said. "We're in the evaluation stage of who will get that.''
Harvin's presumed heir apparent, Andre Dubose, attended practice this past Saturday, and said he's eager to join the team this summer.
Dubose is well aware of the high expectations surrounding him,but he's trying to take it all in stride.
"I don't give it too much thought because I don't want to overwhelm myself with the hype,'' he said. "I just know I want to play football. It's going to be a different stage of course. But I'll be ready for it.''
Meyer cautioned that it shouldn't automatically be assumed Dubose is going to come in and make an immediate impact.
"Guys like Harvin and (Tim) Tebow who come in like they did, those are rare,'' he said.
