Florida WR coach Billy Gonzales latest Gator to fall ill

Florida wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales was sent home Monday morning after beginning to suffer with flu-like symptoms, including a 104-degree temperature, UF coach Urban Meyer said.

He is the latest in a string of those in the Gator program to become ill. TE Aaron Hernandez, DE Jermaine Cunningham and RB Jeff Demps were all sick last week.

Meyer said Demps and Hernandez, who also hyperextended his knee, are now feeling better and expected to play this week when the Gators travel to Kentucky. Cunningham is "still struggling'' Meyer said.

LB Brandon Spikes (Achilles) is probable for this week as is WR Deonte Thompson (hamstring). Meyer said he's been told Thompson will play this week, but he's cautiously optimistic because of the unpredictable nature of hamstring injuries. WR Riley Cooper (pinched nerve in his neck) is also expected to play.
