Florida's Marcus Gilbert picks up weekly SEC honor

Junior OL Marcus Gilbert on Monday was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced.

The 6-foot-6, 315 pound Gilbert graded out among the highest in the unit for the fourth consecutive week in Florida's 41-7 win over Kentucky. He was instrumental in the Gators gaining 362 total rushing yars in the victory, the most against an SEC opponent since 1989.

Gilbert was all over the national television highlights this past weekend, but not because of his stellar play. It was Gilbert's left knee that UF quarterback Tim Tebow collided wtih on his way to the ground after he was sacked by Kentucky's Taylor Wyndham late in the third quarter. Tebow suffered a concussion and was hospitalized overnight.
