SEC Commissioner Mike Slive to Urban Meyer and Lane Kiffin: I mean it, cut it out
Four months after he warned all 12 SEC football coaches to stop acting out in public and taking shots at each other, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive has had to address Florida coach Urban Meyer and Tennessee coach Lane Kififin once again.
The two have been at it since Kiffin mistakenly accused Meyer of a recruiting violation in February. Then following Florida's 10 point win over the Vols last Saturday, Meyer said he played the game conservatively, particularly near the end, because the Vols were running the ball with plenty of time left on the clock, indicating to him they weren't playing to win, just keep the ball from the Gators and keep the score close.
Kiffin responded that the next time he's unhappy with how his team performs, he'll say some of his players are sick. That was a reference to Meyer informing the media that several Gator starters were suffering from the flu or flu-like symptoms prior to the game.
