Lane Kiffin agrees with the AP voters: Alabama is a better team than Florida
Perspective is an interesting thing.
On Wednesday's SEC media teleconference. Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin said his Vols were excited about the opportunity to play the No. 1 team in America.
Later on the call, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen, the Gators' former offensive coordinator, said he and his Bulldogs were excited about playing the No. 1 team in America.
Both are correct.
The Gators are No. 1 in the BCS standings and the USA Today Coaches Poll. Alabama is No. 1 in the AP poll.
But Kiffin thinks the AP voters are the ones who have it correct.
"I think one poll got it right,'' he said earlier this week. "If you watch football and pay attention, I don't think there's any doubt who the No. 1 team is. It was very evident when you look at the two teams playing Arkansas. Alabama has a great team, very well-coached, extremely talented, great special teams, great on offense, great on defense. I love the style that they play with. I think they play extremely physical. They play in your face. They come downhill at you. That's what we're going to be someday. I like everything about what they do.''
