The College Football Playoff national championship isn't coming back to Raymond James Stadium anytime soon.
Tampa wasn't among the four future sites announced by the CFP on Wednesday.
Those four: Miami (January 2021), Indianapolis (2022), Los Angeles (2023) and Houston (2024).
CFP officials praised Tampa's performance as a host site for the event in January, but they decided to continue moving the event around. The first 10 national title games will be held in 10 different cities.
"When we created the playoff, we said we wanted to move the national championship game around," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said. "We have done that."
Atlanta will host the event this season, followed by the San Francisco area and New Orleans.
