Chamberlain High alum named Florida Gators' new backup kicker

Former Chamberlain High athlete Neil MacInnes will be Florida's backup kicker Saturday against Georgia, the Gators announced Friday afternoon.

MacIness, a dental student at UF, won the job when he was one of 216 students to attend the Gators' walk-on kicker tryouts to help fill the void of Jorge Powell, who was injured against LSU.

The 6-foot-4, 219-pound MacInnes participated in football, soccer and track at Chamberlain. He will back up Austin Hardin, who has been bothered this season by a leg injury.
