College Football Playoff media day: Nick Saban, Chris Petersen and Jalen Hurts
ATLANTA -- The Peach Bowl's media day is over. A few quick nuggets from No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Washington:
It's remarkable, but not surprising, how different the staffs were. The Huskies' assistant coaches were loose, and sometimes chatty. Alabama? Its coaches acted and talked just like head coach Nick Saban. Guessing that's not an accident.
Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts is unflappable, as Gators coach Jim McElwain pointed out before the SEC Championship. Hurts, a freshman, doesn't seem to see what the big deal is. "That's just me being the person I am," Hurts said. "It's nothing that triggers it. It's just kind of natural."
Washington coach Chris Petersen on ‘Bama: "It's just a complete team we're playing, so we'll have to be a complete team to answer."
And ‘Bama coach Nick Saban on the Huskies: "I think that this is, by far, the best all-around team that we've played all year long. They score 44 and a half points a game on offense. They've got a really good quarterback. They've got really good skill players on offense at the receiver and running back positions."
We'll have plenty more coming later today.
