Adam Allen's season is over
Any hope Florida coach Billy Donovan had of sophomore forward Adam Allen returning to the court this season has ended.
Donovan said Thursday Allen will definitely redshirt this season, after struggling to recover from knee surgery in December. Allen underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture, and the coaching staff had been holding out hope that he might return if he could recover quickly enough.
It appears that isn't going to happen.
"He is definitely, for sure, not playing this year,'' Donovan said.
Odds are, Allen will apply for a medical redshirt. Donovan said he's extremely sympathetic to Allen's plight: he has been unable to play or practice for about three months now.
"I feel bad for him,'' Donovan said. "Right now, he's not even jogging.''
