Alabama jumps Florida to take over No. 1 in AP Poll

Gators-jube_89952a The four fumbles, six sacks and then the last-second win over Arkansas apparently was enough to convince the Associated Press voters that the Gators are no longer the top team in the nation.

Florida (6-0) fell to No. 2 in the AP poll released Sunday afternoon, while SEC foe Alabama (7-0) jumped the Gators and took over the No. 1 spot.

The Gators had been No. 1 in the poll since the preseason poll was released.

Florida remained No. 1 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, but Alabama also jumped in that poll, replacing Texas at No. 2. The Longhorns are No. 3 in both polls, despite a 16-13 victory over Oklahoma on Saturday.

Florida received 49 of 58 first place votes in the coaches poll.

The Crimson Tide, which received 10 first-place votes in the AP poll last week, got 39 out of 59 from the media panel. Florida received the other 20 first-place votes.
