Brantley is okay, coaches and teammates say
Internet rumors are flying that Florida quarterback John Brantley will miss Saturday's game due to his injured ribs, but Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said Tuesday that Brantley is okay.
"He's doing great,'' Addazio said when asked if Brantley is injured and would be able to play.
Florida senior OL Marcus Gilbert said Brantley was "limited" in practice on Sunday, but he expects him to play this week. The Gators did not practice on Monday.
"We talked to him, a couple of guys, I think he's fine,'' Gilbert said. "I think he's going to bounce back pretty good.''
Brantley was injured late in Saturday night's game at Alabama, and spent about one minute on the field being attended to before he walked off on his own. He said Monday that the injury was not serious enough to keep him out of the LSU game.
"I'm a little sore like any other game would be, but nothing major,''he said. "Nothing that's going to stop me from anything."
