Brent Pease says Gators offensive line is strength of a unit that's finding its way

It's the group that gets little credit, and plenty of blame - especially in a game with eight sacks on the quarterback.

But Florida offensive cooridinator Brent Pease said Florida's offensive line is the strength of the Gator's team right now.

"We say the strength of the team is our O-Line,'' Pease said. "I think they've been consistent from spring, spring on, because there's some good kids up there.''

Florida QB Jeff Driskel was sacked eight times against Texas A&M, but even he admitted the majority were his fault and not the O-line's.

"That was just showing that as our offense, everybody was not locked in,'' O-lineman Jonotthan Harrison said. "It showed that we have some work to do to get better and to help us become a more successful team.

Pease, who is in his first season, said what he's most encouraged about after two games into the new system, is the way the Florida players are adjusting to their new roles.

"I think thing I guess I'm encouraged about is that everybody is kind of finding where they're fitting into this,'' he said. "And you're finding out more and more out about the guy. You find out more about Mike (Gillislee). You find out,  the backups behind him, they're pretty good in knowing what they can do. You find out about Jordan (Reed). I mean the receivers. I mean you look at, no one has asked about Quinton Dunbar, but the kid had a couple big catches, you know. He had a catch down by the red zone. We didn't even throw it to him all week but just the coverage dictated that and you know Jeff made a nice read on it. So, you know, all these guys, they just gotta understand. They continue to work hard in practice and, balls will come your way. We don't have a play where it's 'OK, you're going to run this route and you're getting the ball.'"
