The latest on college sports in Florida

Charlie Weis reportedly stripped of play-calling duties in his final game with Kansas City

If you're one of those people who's still trying to figure out how Florida got former Notre Dame head coach and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss to accept the Gators' offensive coordinator position, here's a story that might shed some light on things.

On Saturday night prior to Florida's men's basketball game against Ole Miss, new head coach Will Muschamp said he had no trouble at all convincing Weis to join the Florida staff. It's Florida,'' Weis said.

Perhaps more importantly, it's not Kansas City.

Reports of a strained relationship between Weis and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley continue, with the latest being that Haley stripped Weis of play-calling duties in the second half of Sunday's 30-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

If you're working for somebody you can't stand - or who can't stand you - it makes sense to get out if the opportunity presents itself. At least that's one theory.

More on the Weis-Haley story here.
