Dan Mullen's status for BCS game uncertain
Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen will be introduced as the new head coach at Mississippi State on Thursday, but whether he will remain with the Gators until the Jan. 8 BCS national championship game remains uncertain.
UF head coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday that a final decision has not been made. Meyer said he will further evaluate the situation and do what's best for the team.
Junior quarterback Tim Tebow, who has spent his entire UF career under Mullen, said he was saddened by the news, but happy for his coach.
"He's a great coach and I wish him the best of luck,'' Tebow said Wednesday night. "I know we're going to miss him. It'll be sad. I enjoyed playing for him.''
Tebow said he talked with Mullen Tuesday night about the possibility he would be leaving, then heard the news from his coach Wednesday morning.
