Despite disappointing ALC loss, Florida lacrosse moves on to NCAA Tournament
The loss to Northwestern in the final of the American Lacrosse Conference tournament this past weekend was disappointing, but the Florida lacrosse team doesn't plan to spend a lot of time reflecting on the past.
The Gators received their first NCAA Tournament bid on Sunday. Florida will host No. 13 Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament May 14 at 1 p.m. Florida is a No. 4 seed.
The Gators were undefeated at home this season.
Florida is one of three newcomers to the NCAA Tournament joining Boston College and Albany. Florida began its program two years ago; Boston College and Albany began in 1992.
Each of the three sports Florida has added since 1995 have earned NCAA berths in their second year of play: lacrosse (2011), softball (1998) and soccer (1996).
