Dream game turns into nightmare for Chandler Parsons

It was supposed to be a dream come true, returning to his hometown to play in a big-time arena.

Instead, Wednesday night's game against UCF was a nightmare for Florida senior Chandler Parsons. And the rest of his Gator teammates.

No. 18 Florida lost to UCF for the first time in school history. And Parsons' performance was a big part of the Gators' woes.

The Casselberry native was 1-of-9 from the field and 0-for-6 from the free throw line. He finished with two points and six rebounds. Asked if that type of game was his worst nightmare, Parsons said: “Close. Couldn’t get any worse.’’

Things got so bad that after he shot an air ball attempting a free throw with 4.2 seconds remaining in the first half, fans chanted airball every time he touched the ball the remainder of the game.

Listen to Parsons give his thoughts on the homecoming, his performance and what's wrong with the Gators.
