Florida quarterback Cameron Newton was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with three felony counts, including burglary, obstruction of justice and larceny.

Newton is charged with stealing a laptop from a University of Florida student valued at $1,700 according to a University Police Department report.

Following an investigation that led to Newton, police entered his dorm room and found the alleged stolen computer on his desk, according to the report.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said Newton has been suspended from the team.

The Gators play The Citadel at 1:30 p.m.,Saturday, at Florida Field.
