Florida basketball team to face Marquette in SEC/BIG EAST Challenge
Florida will host Marquette on Nov. 29 as part of the annual SEC/BIG EAST Challenge. The Gators will play Marquette at 9 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
This will be the second consecutive season the two teams will play, following last year's Sweet 16 meeting in the NCAA West Regional in Phoenix.
This is the second year of the SEC/BIG EAST Challenge, a three-day event beginning Nov. 29, which will include defending national champion Kentucky at Notre Dame and last season’s BIG EAST regular-season champion Syracuse at Arkansas and Marquette at Florida in a showdown of each conference’s 2012 second place finishers.
The BIG EAST won the inaugural Challenge eight games to four. This year’s event will include first-time participation by BIG EAST members Marquette, Notre Dame, South Florida and Villanova.
