Florida beats Miami (Ohio) 34-12

Update: The Florida Gators’ offense was out of synch today in a sluggish 34-12 victory over Miami of Ohio in Gainesville.

Miami took an early 3-0 lead before the Gators’ Janoris Jenkins intercepted a Zac Dysert pass and returned it 70 yards to help Florida take the lead for good at 7-0.

Bad snaps and turnovers plagued the Gators throughout the game, negating much of their offensive output.

John Brantley, who replaced Tim Tebow at quarterback, threw for one touchdown, hitting Omarius Hines on a 10-yarder in the second period. Brantley completed 17 of 25 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Florida plays host to USF next week.

Developing: Florida is holding a 21-6 lead over Miami University (Ohio) at halftime of the game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, but don't let the score fool you.

The Gators have struggled.

Florida has just 13 total yards, -18 rushing yards. And the Gators have picked up just four first downs and have had possession of the ball just 9:43 in two quarters. And one of its three touchdowns was scored by the defense.

Remember, Miami is a team with mostly freshman and sophomores that won just one game last season.
