Florida CB Janoris Jenkins settles legal issues
Janoris Jenkins, an All-SEC cornerback for Florida last season, pled Friday to a misdemeanor possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
Adjudication was withheld and Jenkins was ordered to pay $316 in various court costs and fines.
Jenkins was at Status Night Club in downtown Gainesville in late January when police allegedly saw him with a clear bag of cannabis, trying to roll a cigarette. Jenkins was given a citation to appear in court.
Although he was considered by many to be a first-round NFL Draft pick, Jenkins decided to return to Florida rather than declare for the NFL Draft, and had shoulder surgery that will cause him to miss spring practices, which began this week.
Jenkins also had a legal issue in May 2009, for resisting arrest without violence when he was involved in a fight outside a Gainesville night club.
