Florida Gators forward Chandler Parsons may play in a limited role against LSU
If Florida senior forward Chandler Parsons is cleared to play against LSU on Sunday, it will most likely be in a limited role, Florida coach Billy Donovan said Friday.
Parsons suffered a thigh bruise in this past Saturday's game against Tennessee and has not practiced this week. He did not practice today, and is not expected to practice on Saturday.
Donovan said Parsons is no longer on crutches and the internal bleeding has subsided. Because Parsons has done nothing in a basketball-related capacity in nearly seven days, Donovan said he's unsure how effective he can be if he does play on Sunday.
LSU is 10-16, 2-9 in SEC play, so at least on paper this is not a game where Donovan has to take a chance and play Parsons. He said doctors have told hime there is no danger of further injury to the thigh if Parsons plays.
Listen to Donovan talk about Parsons' injury and what it may mean for the Gators in the near future.
