Florida Gators LB Dee Finley to transfer
A few hours after Florida coach Will Muschamp said he planned to meet with LB Dee Finley about his future with the Gators, Florida has announced that Finley has decided to transfer.
“Dee has decided that he would like to pursue other opportunities,” Muschamp said in a statement. “We wish him the best of luck and we appreciate his time at Florida.”
Finley's tenure with the Gators was marred by injury. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound redshirt sophomore had four tackles this season, 12 in his career. He missed the final seven games of the 2010 season after fracturing his collarbone against LSU.
"Although I’ve enjoyed my time here at Florida, I think it’s best for me to move on and get a fresh start somewhere else,” Finley said in a statement. “I plan on finishing the semester here and concentrating on my academics."
Finley is a native of Auburn, AL.
