Florida guard Kenny Boynton says he's good to go for BYU game
Four days after he sprained his left ankle in Florida's third round NCAA Tournament game against UCLA, Florida sophomore guard Kenny Boynton said Wednesday he feels great and will play at full speed in Thursday's game against BYU>
"It’s good,'' Boynton said as he sat at his locker in the New Orleans Arena Wednesday. "We just practiced (earlier in the day), and I did everything fully. I had no problems. I can cut, I did everything good. They kept asking me if I was good, but it really didn’t give me any problems today. There’s no pain.''
Boynton injured the ankle with just under five minutes remaining in last Saturday's game, and when he fell to the floor he seemed to be in serious pain, making the injury at first appear more serious.
"It hurt, it hurt,'' Boynton said. "But I think what helped me out a little bit was the tape. Usually when I hurt my ankle I don’t have on anything and that makes it worse.''
Florida coach Billy Donovan said earlier this week he expected Boynton to play, but that he wasn't sure he could be at 100 percent. But Boynton said he doesn't expect any problems.
