November

The No. 2 region seed Florida soccer team will try to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament when it hosts UCF today at 7 p.m. at the James G. Pressley Stadium. In today's earlier match, No. 3 region seed North Carolina faces Baylor at 4:30 p.m.

UF is one of eight programs hosting the 2011 NCAA Second and Third Round tournaments this weekend.

UCF is Florida's most frequent opponent in NCAA play - the two teams have met in five previous brackets (2001, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008). Florida owns a 3-1-1 record versus the Knights in NCAA play.

Friday's match is UF's first meeting this season with the Knights. The two teams last played in the opening weekend of the 2010 season, where the Gators won 2-0 in Orlando.

UCF is appearing in its fifth consecutive NCAA field, advancing to the second round each of the last five years. UCF leads all state schools with 16 overall NCAA berths. Tjhe Knights defeated FIU in the tourney's opening round. Florida defeated Florida Gulf Coast last week.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for children up to age 12 and senior citizens.
