Florida kicker Caleb Sturgis named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

c._sturgis.jpgAfter accounting for eight of the Gators' 20 points in a victory over Texas A&M, Florida kicker Caleb Sturgis has been named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Sturgis had a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter, which extended his school record of 50-plus yard kicks to seven - No. 1 nationally among all active kickers. Sturgis now has 100 career PATs made and his 76.9 career field goal percentage is currently 10th in SEC history.

"It was certainly well-deserved,'' Florida coach Will Muschamp said.
