Florida lacrosse stuns Johns Hopkins, advances to conference tournament semifinals
The Florida lacrosse team, seeded sixth in the American Lacrosse Conference Tournament, matched a school record with six goals on its way to a 14-3 upset victory over No. 20 Johns Hopkins Thursday.
The Gators (10-7) will play No. 10 Vanderbilt (11-4) today at 5:30 p.m. in the ALC semifinals. The winner will advance to Saturday’s championship game and face the winner of the first semifinal between No. 2 Northwestern and Penn State.
Florida earned its 10th win of the season with the win on Thursday, becoming just the sixth Division I women's lacrosse program to earn 10 wins in its first season.
